Why Taxximo?

Do you live in a smaller town? Do you travel by taxi? Do you hate calling around taxi drivers or waiting on the line while the dispatcher finds you a vehicle?

What used to be a privilege of large cities and was out of reach for most people is finally available to small taxi companies across Slovakia as well:

• Stop waiting outside for the vehicle to arrive and see its real-time location on the map instead
• No more looking for a vehicle that may have stopped far away from you and trying to reach the driver
• Know the fare in advance and show your satisfaction by rating the driver

Our story

In the early days of taxi apps spreading across large cities, we felt the need to order a taxi through an app in district and small towns too. Most of our team lives outside Bratislava or visits relatives and friends there. And we don’t always travel by our own car. Some small taxi companies were building their own apps, but booking a ride through them was often a problem.

As IT professionals, we knew the pitfalls of development, the demands of maintenance and the cost of keeping systems and mobile apps available around the clock. At the same time, we knew we didn’t want to get into the taxi business itself, but to do what we know and enjoy. That is how the first version of the Taxximo system came about. After two years of development the system went live in 2 towns, and over time, working closely with taxi companies, we gradually fine-tuned its features to be as useful and efficient as possible for the taxi companies while staying simple to use for customers and drivers.
